Leading specialists of the oil and gas sector in Turkmenistan undergo a one week training at the head office of RWE Dea AG in Hamburg, Germany.
The group of ten Turkmen experts for legal and commercial issues will get acquainted with the general law environment and the energy sector in Europe as well as with legal regimes and contracts in the upstream-industry. “We are looking forward to the visit of our Turkmen business partners”, said Heiko Oppermann, General Manager of RWE Dea AG, Turkmenistan Branch. “This is also a good opportunity to establish face-to-face contact as the basis of a long-term partnership.” The training program also includes a visit of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, Hamburg.

The training is conducted in accordance with a memorandum of a long-term cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and RWE signed in April last year. In July 2009, RWE Dea was awarded the exploration licence of Block 23, located in the south-eastern region of the Caspian Sea, immediately off the Turkmenian coast. Currently, the company prepares an environmental study of the area.
