ANCAP Announces Roadshow in Houston to Promote Uruguay Round 2009

MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY (January 8, 2009): The National Administration of Oil, Alcohol and Portland and Alcohol (ANCAP) is organizing a Roadshow Presentation on behalf of the Uruguayan Government, to be held on the morning of Thursday January 22d, 2009 at Petroleum Club of Houston, 800 Bell Street, 43rd Floor, at 8:00 am, in Houston, Texas.
Uruguay has recently launched the Uruguay Round 2009 bid for the licencing of eleven offshore exploration blocks in the Punta del Este and Pelotas Basins on the Atlantic Ocean and ANCAP want to introduce these exploration opportunities to interested E&P companies. The Uruguayan government plans to award the blocks to private companies with sufficient experience and financial capability. All the blocks will be awarded under the format of Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) with ANCAP, Uruguay’s national oil company.
The Uruguayan Minister of Energy, the National Director of Energy, and the president of ANCAP will be in attendance along with a number of other senior officials with expertise on geology of the Uruguayan offshore basins and exploratory potential, legal, environmental and investments promotion issues, offering Roadshow attendees a unique opportunity to directly discuss the exploration potential of the blocks and licensing terms with suitable private firms.
ANCAP’s senior officers will be available for meetings on the following days after the Road Show as requested by interested companies.
