AMEC secures silver in SAM sustainability assessment

London, United Kingdom (7 March 2008) - AMEC plc, the international engineering and project management company, has been awarded a SAM Silver Class award in the global Corporate Sustainability Assessment conducted by SAM (Sustainable Asset Management), an independent asset management company specialising in sustainability investments.
The SAM assessment is published in the Sustainability Yearbook, a reference work for assessing exchange-listed companies according to their economic, ecological and societal success factors. Only the best 15% of companies in 57 industry sectors are included in the Yearbook and are categorised as SAM Gold Class, SAM Silver Class and SAM Bronze Class, with the best company in each sector qualifying as a Sector Leader.
