WARSAW. FEBRUARY 11. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - Polish gas monopolist PGNiG has signed a letter of intent with Offshore Oil Company on co-operation concerning development of previously discovered Iranian gas and gas condensate fields, PGNiG stated on Monday.
“PGNiG has signed a letter of intent in Tehran with the Iranian Offshore Company on co-operation concerning development of previously discovered Iranian gas and gas condensate fields,” the statement reads. PGNiG hopes the deal will allow the company to develop its activity. “Iran has the world’s second largest oil and natural gas resources so
joint enterprises with Iranian companies not only can significantly influence an increase of PGNiG’s profitability, but also greatly fit our actions concerning development of PGNiG”s activity on foreign markets,” PGNiG”s CEO Krzysztof Glogowski was quoted saying in the statement.
PGNiG hopes the agreement will help it join companies such as Austrian OMV, Spanish Repsol, Italian Eni and Russian Lukoil, which are successfully operating in Iran at the moment.
