Coates International, Ltd. Announces Granting of Patent in China

Coates International, Ltd. (the “Company”) announced today that on December 24, 2007, George J. Coates, inventor and President, CEO of the Company was granted a Chinese Patent No. 200380104238.9 for the CSRV Bearing System used in Industrial Engines of all sizes in the electric power generation and other applications. Barry Kaye, CFO remarked that it is very difficult to obtain patents in China. We believe that our technology will be embraced and applied in internal combustion engines of all types.
Because of its novel design, Coates is the only company that has developed this type of “sealed” bearing system that enables even more efficient operation of the CSRV internal combustion engine without the need for pressurized engine oil lubrication. This is very noteworthy because it eliminates the presence of engine oil in the engine combustion chamber during combustion, which in turn reduces the harmful emissions that result from combustion engines that are not designed with our sealed bearing system. In addition, this also significantly reduces the tendency towards breakdown of engine oil viscosity.
